It is often a good idea to get design assistance for several reasons. By including one of these foundries in the design stage, you have the opportunity to get valuable feedback on possible ways to make the casting easier to manufacture. By creating a casting that is easier to manufacture, you will often create a final product that is more cost effective to produce. Conversions

The conversion of fabricated or forged parts into castings is an important part of what we do at Carson Castings. Converting a fabrication to a casting often makes sense when the fabrication requires multiple pieces of material welded together. The resulting casting conversion is usually more aesthetically pleasing and less susceptible to dimensional variances.

Converting forgings to castings is most successful when the customer requires a greater adherence to near net shape of the finished part by the use of cores. The conversion of both steel and aluminum forgings to ADI castings has been a popular practice in recent years. We find that our customers appreciate the cost benefit of using cheaper ADI material
