BRASS AND BRONZE
Brass and bronze, members of the copper
alloy family, are known for their high strength and
superior wear properties as well as excellent corrosion
resistance and heat transfer properties.
While brass is mostly made of copper
and zinc, bronze is made of copper and tin. Aluminum
bronze includes aluminum in its composition for strength
and corrosion resistance, while manganese bronze consists
of aluminum, iron and manganese for even higher strength.
Brass and bronze castings are typically
used in the automotive, aerospace and marine industries
for machinery parts, low-speed wear parts, heavy duty
marine castings, bearings, bushings, gears, nuts, brackets,
impellers, electrical contacts, valves and pump parts.
